For most of 2020 the candidate market has been turned on its head. We have been use to having lots of vacancies and very few candidates to having very few vacancies and in some cases thousands of applications. Make sure you are doing all you can to make your application successful.

What simple tricks can you use to make sure that your CV stands out from the crowd?

Tip number 3
Make sure that your contact details are at the top. This includes your location so that recruiting and hiring managers know where you live.

Why?
CV sifting is a notoriously laborious process and those that are sifting CVs are usually looking for quite simple criteria which will always include location. If you are uploading your CV onto different job boards then you might not want your whole address there, but you do need a town and a postcode. Don't hide away your phone number and email address either - make sure that they are there right at the top.

Tip: Underneath your name add your mobile number and email address along with your postcode and town.

If you think that your organisation would benefit from this please pass on our details and we will be happy to have a confidential no-obligation chat. You can call us on 0116 2080246 or email on outplacementsolutions@emerald-starfish.com
