Caroline Hunt
I am the owner and director of Emerald Starfish. I set up the company over 13 years ago, having come from a recruitment agency background. I love recruitment, but had become really disillusioned with what agencies did for their clients. I wanted to work in partnership with my clients and really support them throughout their recruitment, rather than charging huge sums of money for very little work - my vision was always to get paid for the work that we do rather than charging big placement fees. I focus on great client relationships, sharing expertise and a sense of fun.
Out of work I like to spend time with my family and having built our own house over the pandemic I am spending time creating the garden - which didn't seem to be included in the plans!
Hayley Baxter-Parker
I am an Account Manager at Emerald Starfish, I joined the team in 2020 just 6 weeks before THE great lockdown. Learning all about recruitment during a pandemic has been challenging and a bit of an eye-opener, however, I am really enjoying the ever-changing, fast-paced world that I find myself in.
Working many (many) years in Account Management, across various industries, I am passionate about building strong relationships with each client, so we have a real understanding of them as a business and what it is they are looking for in their new employee. My goal is to ensure they receive the best levels of service we can offer, keeping everyone informed throughout the recruitment process and in the end leaving them satisfied with the work we have done. Nothing is too much trouble so please just ask me!
I like to think I am a really organised, efficient, people person who talks slightly too much (if this was an Olympic sport, I am your woman) that is not good in front of a camera.
Liz Reynolds
I am a Recruitment Administrator at Emerald Starfish and have very much enjoyed being part of the team for the last 5 years. I’m a "people person" and my job here has given me the chance to engage with some wonderful clients and candidates, and of course, colleagues! I have reviewed thousands of CVs during my time here, and I never tire of reading about other people’s fascinating lives and playing a small part in developing careers and helping our clients to enhance their teams.
By nature, I’m a busy person and like to ‘keep moving’ (possibly to the occasional annoyance of my family!). I enjoy running, swimming, yoga and Pilates, walking our dog in the lovely Leicestershire countryside, and pottering about on our allotment. I love spending time with friends and family, good food and a nice glass of something cold (and preferably fizzy!).
Sally Simmons
My name is Sally and I recently joined Emerald Starfish as a Recruitment Administrator. Being part of this exceptional team has already been an incredible experience for me.
With a strong administration background across various sectors, my journey has led me to the field of recruitment, driven by my genuine desire to assist others in advancing their careers and aiding clients in fortifying their dreams.
I am highly motivated and pride myself on being organised, efficient and friendly.
Outside of work I enjoy activities such as running (including half marathons!) going on long walks and spending time with my husband and three sons, all sharing a passion for football, both as spectators and participants.
Payal Assender
I am Payal and I work as an Interviewer for Emerald Starfish, though my background is in Human Resources. I thoroughly enjoy my role, as I am a talkative and engaging person and thrive on meeting new people, finding out all about them, and now I get to do this in this role - which is great.
I pride myself on being organised, highly efficient and effective. I have two degrees and a post graduate diploma in Human Resource Management, not because I am super intelligent but just because I wanted to be a student forever. I live in Market Harborough with my husband, son and our crazy cockapoo. In my spare time (when I have some, which is rare) I enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends and painting, but my guilty pleasure is reality TV.
